He is a contributing author to FEMA P-2345, serves on the ASCE 24 Flood-Resistant Design committee, and is a Structures Specialist (StS-1) with Florida Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 3. He is past president of the FSEA Bay Area chapter and vice president of the ASCE West Coast Branch, and spent eight years at Thornton Tomasetti.
